Michael Castellano
- Vit (a vécu) à United States Minor Outlying Islands
I've been a shutter bug since my argus 35mm "fell" off my brother's truck in 1977. I started out with film of course, did mostly black and white, and had access to a darkroom until the advent of digital cameras in 1998. I gradually improved my equipment, and around 2005 - 2006 I turned to Canon digital SLRs. I mostly use a Canon 7D and a Canon 5D Mark II and just upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark III.
Wildlife, in the form of birds, has been one of my main subjects since I got the better equipment and the longer lenses. I also fancied squirrel shots and did some photojournalism. In the last few years I've expanded to taking photos of race horses at the New York tracks. Weather shots have also interested me, and I've taken my fare share of them.
I'm sometimes asked if I have a philosophy when it comes to photography. Yes, it's to shoot, and to shoot often. Never met a photo I wouldn't try to take! Shooting photos is so much more fun than shooting a gun -- no offense intended towards the gun crowd.
I have my own web site, which you are welcome to visit at any time: http://michaelcastellanophotos.com
I can also be reached by email at photos437@nyc.rr.com
So keep on shooting! And thanks for stopping by!
Regards,
Michael
