This is an infrared shot made in the Portuguese Atlantic Coast line, after the sunset. A know the place very well just because I was there many times but I wanted to try a different colour aproach to this spot. The sea was very calm and smoth and there were not to much waves surf in the shore. With this purpose in mind I setted the 75nm filter in the lens and not the 72nm one. The 75nm infrared filter have the advantage of not messing to much with the colors leaving a picture not in need of an opposite color shift later in processing (considering the colors weel and the channels reversing of the 72nm filter) but a tone shifting only. It´s not so extreme as the 72nm beeing more friendly to work in post processing, just because we work not opposite colors but tone shifting, still working great for a surreal "other planet" look and mood, as I wanted. In the other hand this filter is also much more friendly to work with the WB for the same reasons. Just because the sun was already below the horizon line and it was a very clear sunny day with no clouds at all the sky near the horizon was very orange and red and completely filling the light part of the sky near the horizon. The shooting time window was not very large because it was infrared shooting also needing light to work but as I know the place it was enough to do some pictures and this is one of them I like the most.
