The Forth Rail Bridge (with its total length of 2,5 km) spans over the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, near Edinburgh. As a very first major steel structure in United Kingdom the bridge was opened already on 4th March 1890. Today the bridge is considered to be one of the most internationally recognized Scottish landmarks, obviously because of its strong look. Approximately 200 trains cross the bridge every single day. The massive structure is simply beautiful and leaves huge impression especially when you approach it from the shoreline level. This photo was taken on the last evening of our stay in Scotland, we got lucky to catch the last minutes of sunset. It is a combination of long and short exposure photographs, colors and contrast were further adjusted in post-processing. My aim was to highlight the steel-cold character of this bridge which dominates the wide estuary of river Forth.
