how long do you watch the pictures at the curator page? much longer then the required 3 seconds?

how fast do you scroll the images on the weekly theme page?  i do it quite fast...

and what is it that makes you stop? what is it that make a photo standing out from tousands and tousands of images?

that is the question i am interested in.

and i think there is something far beyond the composition rules we all know, far beyond the perfect exposure and camera settings, and far beyond good post processing.

one of my absolute favourite pictures on 1x.com has nothing to do with rule of thirds and the main point is out of focus - but the picture is talking to me like a good story teller! i could watch it for hours - without being bored. that is the art of picture i would like to shoot one day. but i am still searching - and i am glad to do this journey on 1x.com!
