This is a shot from a building´s wall in Aveiro University Campus. It is not an "easy" wall to extract a bw from, because this particular bricks are not red, they are light yellow and some almost dark white and the light reflection in this kind of material (light clay), with these tones, make your life real hard when editing for bw and gives you a real challenge in the post processing work (the surface made of clay is not "clean" enough for a "light" minimal presentation and the tones are very similar to achieve volume and depth in the frame). The idea for this particular triptych came to me when I was helping my 11 years old son in his math school homework. He was doing sequences with a dice representation figure in a book. There was 2 dice figures represented in the book in 2 different positions each, and the kid had to guess the 5 next positions of the dices, in a rotation movement. When I finished this "father work" I begin to post process this shot and I just had the idea to aply that dice sequence exercise in this shot, but, at the same time, coordinate that rotation with some basic principles of abstract composition about geometric shapes representation, in this particular case, about triangles and parallelograms (maybe the hardest two polygons to match with harmony in abstract composition) and linear/regular geometric shapes, because those "non regular" shapes are all filled up with small ("regular") rectangles.
