Tom Ross
- Lives (lived) in United States
Tom began taking photography seriously a little over twenty five years ago after attending a college darkroom class. His long hours in the shared darkroom soon motivated him to build his own. He created hundreds of stark black and white images in that room. But being an early adopter of digital imaging, around 2002 he all but abandoned the darkroom for a studio dominated by the hum of computers and the glow of large monitors.
Tom now performs commercial work, artistic portraiture, figure studies and fine art images which he refers to as his personal work. Over the last few years Tom has become increasingly interested in alternative and traditional processes. But unlike many who have returned to the more traditional roots of photography he has far from abandoned digital imaging. He uses both technologies independently and in combination based on the most important thing to him – the finished image.
The pictures are predominantly assigned to the art direction Photography.
Tom Ross was mainly concerned with the following motives: Nude.
The art works of the artist are dominated by the colors gray, black and pastel.
