Miron Abramovici
- Vit (a vécu) à United States
I have had a distinguished scientific career as a researcher, textbook author, inventor, and university professor. But this part of my resume is not relevant to art. A couple of years ago I discovered my inner artist hiding in the scientist shell and became an award-winning photographer. Photography became my passion, obsession, and a main reason of being. I hope you can see the passion behind the artwork. I love to discover the world through the eye of the camera, to see its hidden beauty or unusual features of "ordinary" things. My artwork translates my fascination with human faces, abstract patterns, reflections, and surrealistic images. My awards include
- First place in the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP NJ) 2009 Fine Art Photography Competition
- Silver Award in the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards "Portrait & People" 2010 juried competition
- NJ artist of the month for January 2011 (selected by JerseyArts)
- Two Bronze Awards in the International Loupe Awards 2012 (Portraits and People category).
I also use art to help the less fortunate. I am a volunteer photographer for the Special Olympics - an organization dedicated to helping people with intellectual disabilities to succeed in life by involving them in sport activities. My current project is documenting the lives of people with mental disabilities.
