- Vit (a vécu) à Switzerland

I travelled most of my life, in Asia mostly. Now in my mid 60's I settled back in Switzerland. I came to photography rather late, I mean more than the usual click. A year ago trying to get some macro shot of plants I finally bought a 100mm. macro lens and was literally bowled over by the possibilities with insects. My first shot of a wasp on a plate with some honey just catapulted me in this passion. I was interested in insects from my very young age but to be able to enter into their dimension was like a revelation... Of course there is a long way from the first shot to actually obtain something vewable, the learning slope is steep, but with some motivation -and a lot of clicking- you get a bit better every day. I^ll just add that I don't go for over PSed and the tendency to reduce insects to top models all nice and made up, I prefer a bit candid and not to separate it from its background. I don't invite insects to my world but want to go into theirs... nough said....
I have to correct myself slightly, by being a newbee I meant to new to macro lens..
I say this because as a kid I remember vividly the many times I spent in my mom's dark room. It was in the 50's, there were trays where the pics slowly revealed " a couple seconds more...now is the time !" etc...etc.. everything that went with argentic. So I absorbed a lot observing her and it must have stayed in me a way or another...My pop was also in photography, we spent time analysing his B&W shot of a chinese travel etc...I mean, in this way I have never been a true newbee..!!!
